Former Texas star Tara Davis, the collegiate record holder in both the women's indoor and outdoor long jump, was a finalist for the Bowerman Award, presented in Orlando, Fla. Davis, a U.S. Olympian, won NCAA Division 1 indoor and outdoor long jump titles. She became the third Texas female athlete to be chosen as a finalist, joining 2009 selection Destinee Hooker and 2016 winner Courtney Okolo, who was also a finalist in 2014.
