Both the Arkansas men and women should easily take this region and are expected to not push their athletes to dominate the way they could.  The #3 Arkansas women have performed very well this year with a solid top three and will run as a pack to try and easily qualify for the NCAA championships.  #29 Texas A&M women will try to hld off the competition to get the only other likely berth from this region.

Marielle Hall of Texas has run very well this year but other expected seniors from Texas have not run.  Hall is the only one to have challenged NCAA favorite D’Agostino at the Wisconsin Adidas meet before she was also nipped at the finish by Emily Sisson of Providence.  The next three could very likely be from Arkansas, Grace Heymsfield, SEC champ Dominique Scott, and Shannon Klenke.  Those three took the top three spots at the SEC championships and went 6 (Heymsfield), 8 (Klenke) and 13 (Scott) at Wisconsin Adidas.

The men of #9 Arkansas will have a tougher challenge from #25 Texas as the Longhorns will likely run better at a longer distance.  Ryan Dohner and Craig Lutz will try to pull their Longhorn teammates to an automatic bid.

SEC champion Kemoy Campbell of Arkansas ran away from the competition early at Wisconsin Adidas but nobody could catch him.  The men from Arkansas also dominated the SEC with a 1-2-3 finish but Campbell was way out ahead of one-time D1 national AOW Stanley Kebenei.  Solomon Haile had his best race of the season at SEC and will hope to build on that performance as Arkansas sadly lacks in depth.
